THE DEADLY DANCE, 1980/2017
Giclée fine artprint on paper, 95 x 66,5 cm
Edition of 3 + 1AP (signed and stamped by Laibach)
Please note: The piece is, and will be supplied, unframed
This is a copy of the original poster that was launched in the context of Laibach's ‘coming out’ event at Trbovlje’s Delavski Dom (Labour Hall) on 27 September 1980, and was subversively put up around the city of Trbovlje overnight. The motif of the poster refers to Titian's painting Tarquin and Lucretia, as well as to a scene from John Carpenter's movie Halloween. The original Laibach painting with the same motif, which served as the matrix for the poster, was also created by the group back in 1979/1980.
