United States of Europe
United States of Europe; 1987/2007
A colour reinterpretation of the original black and white poster from the Laibach's 1987 European tour called "The United States of Europe Tour". The figure in the picture was also used by the band on the cover of their famous album "Opus Dei" in the same year. Laibach "borrowed" this motif from the German painter Werner Peiner, and it represents an allegory of terror and war, with a snake - in the form of a symbol for the dollar currency - wrapping itself around the figure's weapon. In the background is a map of Europe;
Silkscreen print on paper: 100 x 70 cm, limited edition of 65 in the series, numbered, signed, and stamped with an original Laibach seal.
All posters are suitably protected and shipped in a cardboard tube, separately from the other ordered items.
