With MUSICK, Laibach celebrates and playfully critiques our era of warped reality and gaudy AI copycatting, delivering a set of irresistibly catchy pop songs powered by hyper-charged postmodernity.

The title carries a double meaning: exhaustion with music in an age of endless digital excess, and an obsessive devotion to it as a compulsive force that continues to drive the group. As listening itself grows increasingly unstable, MUSICK reflects this condition through constantly shifting sounds and references.

Created using a maximalist approach in the group’s Ljubljana studio, the album draws on a wide spectrum of contemporary pop production—from Eurodance to K-pop—with contributions from prominent regional guest musicians and producer Richard X (known for his work with New Order, Goldfrapp, M.I.A., Sugababes, and Kelis). Intensely pop yet unmistakably itself, MUSICK is Laibach at full saturation.

Laibach a une fois de plus prouvé pourquoi il reste, à mes yeux, l'un des collectifs les plus fascinants et indispensables de l'avant-garde européenne. Avec cet album, le groupe livre une œuvre aussi redoutablement accessible qu'infiniment corrosive. J'y vois un exercice de déconstruction magistral, où Laibach s'empare sans trembler des codes de la pop contemporaine et de la sous-culture numérique : Je suis fasciné par la manière dont le groupe déploie des rythmiques irrésistibles et des mélodies d'une efficacité diabolique, tout en y injectant une ironie mordante sur l'hyper-industrialisation de l'art. À travers le prisme de la réalité virtuelle, des algorithmes et de l'uniformisation culturelle, Musick est pour moi une démonstration de force : après plus de quatre décennies de création, Laibach conserve une capacité intacte à manier la provocation intellectuelle tout en offrant une expérience sonore jubilatoire.

I've been ordering from Laibach WTC since the beginning of time and I never had a problem, items would arrive on time (sometimes even super fast, considering that I live in Canada). LAIBACH MUSICK – CD

Laibach hat mal wieder abgeliefert. Und wie. Hardcore Fans werden mit Musick vielleicht nicht klar kommen. Ich finde das Album super. Ich habe es vor dem 1.Mai bekommen. Danke erstmal dafür. Diesmal haut auch der CD Text hin. Die Songs sind richtig geil. Allgorythm war schon vorher mein Favorit. Musick kommt nicht ganz an die Ohrwurm Qualität von Allgorythm ran, finde ich. Aber die anderen Songs habe ich jetzt gerade gehört und finde sie total gelungen. Wie immer muß man zwischen den Zeilen lesen. Es ist ja jede Menge gerechtfertigter Kritik untergebracht. Normale Hörer werden nach den Songs tanzen, ohne zu bemerken, worum es geht. Auch Leute, die Englisch verstehen, werden nicht gleich die Bedeutung verstehen. Aber Laibach hat schon immer mit den Leuten gespielt. Wie z.B. bei Whistleblowers. Cooler tanzbarerTrack, aber böser Text. Das haben sie wirklich perfektioniert. Was ich mir gewünscht hätte, daß Yom Kippur als Bonustrack auf dem Album erscheint. Oder daß er überhaupt mal auf CD erscheint, wenigstens auf einer Compilation. Denn es gibt ihn nur als Download. Und ich finde diesen Song extrem gut und extrem wichtig. Aber das bleibt wohl ein Traum. Auf jeden Fall kann ich Musick nur empfehlen. Für alle Musikfreaks. Einen schönen 1.Mai aus Berlin.
